RPM Laser Therapy uses Active Therapeutic Movement (ATM) techniques to isolate injury, reduce pain, improve posture, increase range of motion, and enhance strength and performance. ATMs are completed using clinical equipment that is composed of a belting system and resistance bands. Passive holding or active movement techniques are used to retrain the Central Nervous System (CNS) to work with the body’s musculoskeletal system and allow the normalization of impaired movements.
ATM is a suitable treatment method for almost all common back, neck, shoulder, knee, pelvis and hip pain clients. In addition to treating a wide range of musculoskeletal disorders and/or injuries, ATM techniques can provide athletes with lasting and immediate increases in range of motion, flexibility and strength. Further, Active Therapeutic Movements can alter the CNSs muscle activity patterns to automatically improve posture (e.g. normalize forward head position, rolled shoulders, and hunching).
ATM treatments can be used independently or in combination with other therapeutic modalities, like Laser Therapy.
Program Overview and Cost
- Initial Consultation: lasting approximately half an hour, the initial consultation provides you with the opportunity to meet with your therapeutic technician and discuss your relevant medical history, and health goals (pain reduction, postural correction, increased strength, flexibility and/or range of motion). Your technician will work with you to help identify your target results and discuss treatment and program options specifically tailored to your individual needs.
The consultation is free of charge and there is no obligation to schedule treatment.
- Pain Relief Treatment: Depending on the source, severity and nature of your pain or health goals, the frequency of treatments will range from one to three sessions per week. Typically a higher number of sessions per week are initially required with frequency lessening as you start to experience results. The treatment is completely pain free and non-invasive.
Treatment can be purchased either on a pay-as-you-go basis ($45.00/session) or as a package of 6 sessions ($225.00). ATM is covered by extended health care benefits as well as Motor Vehicle Accident and WSIB claims.
